O.K. so you wanna know what the deal is with each expansion, huh? Well here's the Goose's personal opinions about each expansion Doomtrooper has had (Click on the name of the set to see its picture!):

NAME: FIRST EDITION BASIC SET

NUMBER OF CARDS: 334

BOOSTER FORMAT: 15 cards per Booster, 36 Boosters per Box

COMMONALITY: Hard to find.

SYMBOL: No symbol. Just the red pen stripe.

FOCUS: This is the basic set for Doomtrooper. Essentially, this set is just what the name says, "BASIC". It contains the base cards you need in order to make a simple Doomtrooper deck. No big combos. No glitz. Just the basics and a bunch of useless cards thrown in for no reason.

OPINION: What this set needs is some major re-vamping. 2nd Edition Doomtrooper is a definite MUST. About sixty some cards should be cut, and over a dozen cards should have their commonality changed. Cybertronic is the weakest group in the set with no real cards in there to make them worth playing. Mishima also gets the shaft in this set. The Boosters have bad sorting so that all the rares in a box are sorted in basic alphabetical order.

RATINGS: 53% suck, 31% O.K., 16% Awesome

CARDS TO LOOK FOR:Alakhai the Cunning, Bamboozled!, Bogged Down, Cardinal Dominic, Crenshaw the Mortificator, Greater Telepathy, Improve Self, Inspired, Keeper of the Art, Manifest Destiny, Miscommunication, Narrow Escape!, Negitive Karma, Nimrod Autocannon, Personal Anti-personnel Mines, Positive Karma, Pretorian Stalker, Prove Your Valor, Reversal of Fortune, Ruthless Efficirncy, Scythe of Semai, Shroud, Sleep, Snub the Cardinal, Suicide Mission.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD: Miscommunication

NAME: UNLIMITED EDITION BASIC SET

NUMBER OF CARDS: 339

BOOSTER FORMAT: Same as First Edition.

COMMONALITY: Very easy to find.

SYMBOL: No Symbol. No red pen stripe.

FOCUS: Same as First Edition.

OPINION: Bad sorting is mostly fixed. Erratas are fixed. Five new cards, the only one worth mentioning is "Sworn Vengence"

RATINGS: 54% suck, 31% O.K., 15% Awesome

CARDS TO LOOK FOR: Same as First Edition, plus Sworn Vengence.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD: Miscommunication.

NAME: Inquisition

NUMBER OF CARDS: 175 (176 Including Ragathol)

BOOSTER FORMAT: 8 Cards per pack, 60 packs per box.

COMMONALITY: Easiest set to find.

SYMBOL: 1/2 brotherhood 1/2 Darklegion

FOCUS: This set builds up the forces and powers of the Brotherhood and the Dark legion. There are some cards in here to make Cybertronic and Mishima somewhat worth playing. This set also introduced a new card catagory called "Relics". Relics are unique items that a warrior is given that convey HUGE benefits. ( IMPORTANT NOTE: You do not have to "BE A NOTED COLLECTOR" in order to play Relics )

OPINION: This set had a humongous delay and an equally humongous print run. This would be a very good set if it didn't have so many 100% useless cards. This is almost counter balanced with a large handfull of really powerful cards. If you looking for basic warriors for the Dark legion, then this set has those "toadies".

RATINGS: 43% suck, 30% O.K., 27% awesome

CARDS TO LOOK FOR: AG-17 "Panzerknacker", Algeroth-Apostle of War, Annihilation, Armro of the True Assassin, Bauhaus Bully, Book of Law, Bringer of Light, Cardinal Durand, Cardinal's Bank, Demnogonis- The Befouler, Double Duty, Eradicator Deathdroid, Factory, Greater Manipulation, Grizzly Battletank, Hellblaster, Ilian-Mistress of the Void, Industrial Complex, Loot and Pillage, Mortal Wound, Nazgaroth, Reassignment, Scroll of Unholy Invocation, Snipers!, Taxation, The Fourth Directorate, Wave of Riteousness.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD: Armor of the True Assassin.

NAME: Warzone

NUMBER OF CARDS: 131

BOOSTER FORMAT: 8 cards per pack, 60 packs per box.

COMMONALITY: Was easy, however is getting progressively harder to find.

SYMBOL: Green, Gold, and Red "Z".

FOCUS: This expansion was to bring up the forces that are behind each of the five mega corperations , as well as add some new Dark Legion Toadies. This set introduces another new card catagory: Warzones. Warzones are locations that you place in you squad and kohort in order for your warriors to defend from them when attacked in order to help sway the combat. (IMPORTANT NOTE: You do not need to "BE A GRAND TACTICIAN" in order to play Warzones. )

OPINION: This set is not as powerful as the Inquisition set. However it is a better designed one with less frustration of getting useless cards.

RATINGS: 17% suck, 69% O.K., 14% Awesome

CARDS TO LOOK FOR: Anti-Tank Minefield, Bio-Giant, Citodel Sanctum, Cyril Dent, Destroyer, Klein Helitek Dragonfly, Lancelot Light Freighter, Minefield, Programmed, Reaper of Souls, Reaver Troop Carrier, Sudden Death, any Corperate Leader.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD: Minefield.

NAME: Mortificator

NUMBER OF CARDS: 131

BOOSTER FORMAT: 8 cards per pack, 60 packs per box.

COMMONALITY: Hardest set to find.

SYMBOL: A little Mortificator head on a yellow circle.

FOCUS: Mortificators...duh. This set introduces an new card SUB-catagory: Poisons. Poisons were equipment/special cards you gave to Mortificators to allow them to auto-kill/wound any opponent (very dangerous cards). There are mainly powerful special cards in this set.

OPINION: My favorite set. It's unfortunate that this set is so impossible to find in the United States.

RATINGS: 20% suck, 37% O.K., 43% Awesome.

CARDS TO LOOK FOR: Amnesia, And Stay Dead!, Booby Trap, Bribery, Carnage, Crenshaw the Redeemer, Deal with It, Death Maze, Defensive Barrier, Don't Call Again!, Eat This!, Embassy, Falling Market, Golgotha's Citodel, Gung Ho, Hasty Getaway, Holy Protector, Joker!, Life Insurance, Master of Disguise, Mercenary, No Loose Ends, Panic Button, Pound of Flesh, Pursuit, Rage, Replicant Lab, Repudiate, Rising Market, Shore Leave, Solidarity, Surveillance Ship, The Stahler Palace.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD: Joker!

NAME:Golgotha

NUMBER OF CARDS: 80 (+11 info cards)

BOOSTER FORMAT: 16 cards per pack, 20 packs per box.

COMMONALITY: Moderately hard to find, getting harder.

SYMBOL: A golden spider with Golgotha's face on it.

FOCUS: This set was the first of two completely COMMON sets. This allowed beginning players to get all of the powerful cards in the set easily, and attempted to balance the power in the game. The 16th card in every pack is an info card about the game/related products.

OPINION: Golgotha is a nice set. It has a lot of powerful, special cards that can easily sway the direction of a game. Great set for new players to purchase as a way to get started (better than with a straight starter deck). RATINGS: 33% suck, 45% O.K., 22% awesome.

CARDS TO LOOK FOR: Bauhaus, Capitol, Carcass Suit, Changeling Power, Cybertronic, Festering Wounds, Golgotha's Mirror, Impale, Missing in Action, Mutiny!, Second Thoughts, Stolen Paperwork, The Brotherhood, The Dark Legion, Timothy Macquire, Toshiro, Wartime Retribution.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD: Golgotha's Mirror.

NAME: Apocalypse

NUMBER OF CARDS: 80 (+10 info cards)

BOOSTER FORMAT: 16 cards per pack, 20 packs per box.

COMMONALITY: Harder than Golgotha, getting harder.

SYMBOL: Big Skull. FOCUS: This set focused on everything Golgotha didn't: Warriors, Fortifications, and Equipment. It brings in another new card catagory: Ki Powers. Ki Powers are nifty attachements that can only be given to Mishima Warriors. This is the last all common set for Doomtrooper.

OPINION: This is the next best set to Mortificator ( if not better ). It is also another great set for beginners to purchase to get their deck started. The Ki Powers succeed where Dark Symmetry fails.

RATINGS: 13% suck, 38% O.K., 49% awesome

CARDS TO LOOK FOR: A Second Chance, Adrenaline Implants, Antipersonnel Grenade, Board Room, Boot Camp, Brainwave Bomb, Brother Claudius, Cryotech Chamber, Epidermal Plates, Factory Retrofit, Hardened Fist, Innocent Bauble, Kanji's Lucky Sense, Keitoku Asano, Kritana, Nomura's Quickened Step, Paladine's Favor, Pass the Buck, Targeting Instillation, The Chameleon's Skin, The Cobra's Venomous Strike, The Crow's Piercing Glance, Triangulating Scope, Weapon Link, Working on the Sly.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD: Brainwave Bomb.

NAME:Paradise Lost

NUMBER OF CARDS: 124 +11 info cards.

BOOSTER FORMAT:15 cards per pack, 36 packs per box.

COMMONALITY: Pretty darn hard to find.

SYMBOL: The skull of a beast.

FOCUS: This set focuses on the Dark Eden setting. It introduces a new area of play, which is between your squad, and kohort call "The Outpost"; it represents earth. This set also introduces a new card catagory called Beasts. Beasts can only be given to or carried by tribal warriors in the Outpost. Having a Beast is like carring around a Warzone (the modifiers are used at all times). The set brings into the game, four new affilations. They are the tribal warriors who are added to and may not leave the outpost.

OPINION: If you have a good mega corp deck and are looking for cards to enhance your current deck, you're not gonna find much here. However if you're sick of playing the same old mega corp deck and are looking for a brand new type of deck to build, then this set is your cup of tea. This set can help out any Dark Legion deck (with Virus cards).

RATINGS: 47% suck 26% O.K. 27% awesome

CARDS TO LOOK FOR: Any "Code Skull", Brotherhood Archives, Captured!, Curbed, Fuslier, Gang up!, Grinder, Master Valpurgius, Navigational Error, Our enemy's Weakness is Exposed, Our True Enemy is Revealed, Phische, Prison Work Camp, Shock Soldat, Summit Meeting, Support Artillary Ox, Zhurgon.

MOST IMPORTANT CARD(s): The Four Code Skulls.
